Teach-in Tuesdays: The History of Voting Laws in North Carolina

October 4, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In our second event of the “Teach-in Tuesdays” series, we will explore the history of voting laws in North Carolina. We will first hear from professors at Duke that specialize in the history of literacy tests at the polls in North Carolina, and then we will hear the story of several UNC students that were recently denied their right to vote due to ID laws in North Carolina.

Teach-in Tuesdays are a collaboration between the Campus Y, NCPIRG, and Democracy NC. The teach-ins are based around the upcoming presidential elections.
