HYPE Fall GBM

Please join us for our Fall HYPE (Helping Youth by Providing Enrichment) General Body Meeting. You do not have to be a part of HYPE to attend! We will be hearing from Alison LaGarry, an assistant professor in the UNC School of Education who teaches a social justice in education course. She will be discussing HOW we can be critical when talking about the work that we do. Specifically we will be talking about how to empower children using asset based theories rather than deficit based theories. After hearing from Alison LaGarry, we will split up into groups and reflect on our experiences as HYPE tutors. TREATS WILL BE PROVIDED 🙂 We will be meeting in Manning 209.
