Glitter. Power. Love. A (re)Introduction to Gender

November 3, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Genderqueers? Agenders? Gender Non-conformists? Oh my! Do you find yourself lost in the stew of new words that people these days are using to describe their gender? Are you confused about what the word “genderqueer” really even means? Do you want to have a critical dialogue about the role that gender non-conforming people play in the broader trans movement? Then this is the workshop for you! In an hour and a half of glittering presentation and dialogue, Jacob will explain the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the genderqueer movement. From defining basic gender-fluid terminology (including the term gender-fluid), to learning about the challenges facing those who identify as gender non-conforming, this presentation will allow you to walk away as bona fide experts in all things non-binary. This event will take place in Chapman 201.

Organized by UNC SAGA

Sponsored by the Provost’s Committee on LGBTQ Life, Multicultural Affairs and Diversity Outreach (MADO), the Program in Sexuality Studies, The Campus Y, and the Committee for a Queerer Carolina (CQC)
