Boot the Braids with The Coalition of Immokalee Workers

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ (CIW) Fair Food Program has eliminated modern-day slavery and sexual violence, improved farmworker wages and guaranteed basic protections for tens of thousands of workers. Rather than take part in these unprecedented human rights advances in U.S. agriculture, Wendy’s ran away from responsibility and abandoned the Florida Tomato Industry altogether.

This event, which takes place after the Boot the Braids March, seeks to educate students and organizations about CIW, the Fair Food Program, and how to continue the Boot the Braids Campaign on campus until Wendy’s commits to treating their workers with the respect they deserve.
